The Teacher Assistant (TA) will support the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality education to students. The primary responsibility of the Teacher Assistant is to help with instructional tasks, assist in maintaining classroom organization, and ensure that students are supported in their learning. The role requires strong communication skills, patience, and a passion for helping students succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Support:
- Assist the lead teacher in preparing lesson materials, visual aids, and classroom displays.
- Help small groups or individual students with assignments and tasks.
- Provide one-on-one support for students who need extra help understanding the curriculum.
- Monitor and assist students during class activities to ensure they remain engaged and on task.
- Reinforce positive behavior and support classroom management strategies.
Classroom Management:
- Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
- Assist in setting up learning centers or preparing materials for specific lessons.
- Supervise students during recess, lunch, or other non-instructional times.
Student Support:
- Assist students with their personal and academic needs, such as providing accommodations or modifications.
- Support students with special educational needs or other learning challenges.
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their social and emotional development.
Administrative Duties:
- Assist in grading assignments or collecting homework.
- Organize and maintain student records, as directed by the teacher.
- Help prepare and distribute handouts, assignments, and materials for students.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to provide feedback on student progress and needs.
- Attend staff meetings or professional development sessions as required.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education or child development preferred.
Experience:
- Prior experience working with children, particularly in a classroom setting, is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with students and staff.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs.
- Basic knowledge of educational technologies and classroom tools.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the classroom for extended periods.

- Occasional exposure to moderate noise levels typical of a school setting.
